I've always been a fan of the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust and never more so than now I've taken up photography. When I was younger I used to visit Martin Mere in Preston, and now that I live in London, Barnes Wildfowl and Wetland Centre has become a favourite spot of mine.
I've tried half a dozen other places to photograph wildlife in London, but so far none has come close to Barnes. As well as enclosed areas the centre has many hectres of open space, with beautiful walkways along vast ponds; I'd highly recommend it.
I'm very envious of the amazing macro shots of insects that some photographers have managed to capture there (take a look at the entries for the WWT photo competition). It's certainly an area I intend to practice and improve upon.
